Referrer meets SpotMe eligibility requirements and is part of the SpotMe Referral Incentive campaign to receive the SpotMe Bonus; (2) Referred has not previously opened a Chime Checking Account (“Account”); (3) Referred opens a new Account between January 1 and December 31 of the current calendar year; (4) Referred opens the new Account using the Referrer’s unique referral link; (5) Referred receives in the new Account a Qualifying Direct Deposit within 45 calendar days of opening the Account; and (6) Referred activates one of their physical Chime Visa Cards within 14 days of receiving a Qualifying Direct Deposit. A Qualifying Direct Deposit is a deposit of $200.00 or more by Automated Clearing House (“ACH”) that comes from your employer, payroll provider, gig economy payer, or benefits payer OR a deposit by Original Credit Transaction (OCT) from your gig economy payer. Bank ACH transfers, Pay Anyone transfers, verification or trial deposits from financial institutions, peer to peer transfers from services such as PayPal, Cash App, or Venmo, mobile check deposits, cash deposits, one-time direct deposits, such as tax refunds and other similar transactions, and any deposit that Chime deems to not be legitimate are not Qualifying Direct Deposits.
Reward Timing
Referral rewards will generally be provided within ten (10) business days after all the above conditions are met. The Referrer’s account must be in good standing in order to receive the referral reward. Any Referrer SpotMe Bonus under this promotion will expire 184 calendar days after the SpotMe Bonus is issued to the Referrer.
Limitations
Members will not be enrolled in SpotMe automatically. Referrers must qualify for SpotMe and enroll manually through the Chime App in order to receive the temporary SpotMe Bonus. No more than $50.00 in SpotMe Bonuses may be added to a member’s SpotMe limit at one time. If the Referrer has reached this $50.00 SpotMe Bonus maximum, any other earned SpotMe Bonuses will be added to the Referrer’s bonus queue (“Bonus Queue”). Any earned SpotMe Bonus from this promotion in the member’s Bonus Queue not yet added to the member’s SpotMe limit (due to the promotional limit cap) will be added to the member’s SpotMe limit on a rolling basis as the previously added SpotMe Bonuses to the member’s SpotMe limit expire. Members may earn referral rewards for up to a maximum of ten (“10”) successful referrals per current calendar year. No member’s SpotMe limit may exceed $270.00, across their base limit, bonuses and boosts. If an eligible Referrer loses SpotMe eligibility, and the Referred completes the above conditions, the Referrer will receive the $10.00 temporary SpotMe Bonus only upon regaining SpotMe eligibility.
Referral links should not be publicized in a way that implies a business affiliation with Chime, such as by registering a domain name including CHIME (e.g. Chimereferral[.]com), creating a social media profile including CHIME (e.g. “Chime Referrals” Instagram page), or purchasing an ad using Chime trademarks.
If you send your referral link to a Referred, you represent that you have the necessary consent from the Referred to send them any text or email relating to this offer. Please note that Washington State law places specific restrictions on the sending of commercial text messages to a recipient who resides in the State of Washington. If you plan to send your referral link via text message to a resident of the State of Washington, you must obtain the consent of that recipient prior to sending them your Chime referral link via text message. You should maintain a record of that consent. Chime is not responsible for any referral communications sent without such consent.
Referred individuals acknowledge that payment of any referral reward may result in the Referrer’s knowledge of the Referred’s establishment of a new Account or enrollment in a product. Chime reserves the right to cancel or modify the terms of any referral promotion or terminate a member’s eligibility at any time with or without prior notice.
Taxes and Further Disclosures
Credits of $10.00 or more will be reported on tax form 1099-INT for new members (Referred). If a Chime member receives certain monetary rewards that total $2,000.00 or more in one calendar year, this will be reported on tax form 1099-MISC as required for the Chime member.
